| Description: |
| The High Rate Wireless LAN Access Point is one of IBM's two new wireless LAN solutions based on the new IEEE 802.11b standard for wireless LAN (WLAN). This WLAN solution significantly outperforms previous generation offerings with performance comparable to "wired" Ethernet LANs at up to 11Mbps. The Access Point (AP) acts as a "bridge" between the wireless and wired Ethernet networks. Networks can be configured with one AP for small workgroups or configured with multiple APs to support many users or physical locations. |
